Shoebox appeal helps children all over the world

This month we have been busy gathering gifts for children around the world through our shoebox appeal.

Our team have been gifting lots of small items that will fill up a shoebox – toys, dolls, teddy bears, sweets, puzzles, toiletries, stationery, clothes, games, literally dozens of items are suggested by the organisers. The boxes are then distributed to over 100 countries worldwide to make Christmas a little bit better for the less fortunate children in the world. Each box is marked with the appropriate age and gender.

The appeal is called Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child. The appeal closed on 16 November and we have exceeded our original target, filling 30 shoeboxes. Here they are ready to be sent. They are now speeding around the globe to be received by children who really need them.

A small shoebox can have a big impact on a child's life by providing them with a simple gift at Christmas. Since 1990, more than 157 million children in over 160 countries have received a simple shoebox filled with gifts from Operation Christmas Child.
